As we face the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19 with more people under mandatory self-isolation, Heat is proud to provide some extra help to those who do not have the support of an income or a network of family and friends.
Jewish Care, a philanthropic organisation founded to serve the Jewish population of Victoria, run several aged care facilities as well as assist people in poverty, disability services and rehabilitation. Recently, Elders at Jewish Care have been working tirelessly to assemble gift packs for those in the Jewish community facing social, emotional and financial hardship.
We are very aware that the impact of this crisis will be most keenly felt by those who are most vulnerable, and were privileged to provide a donation of over $70,000 worth of personal care itemsforgift and pamper packs to spread some cheer during these difficult days of isolation.
Making this a true community effort, was the contribution of Jewish Care volunteers who unpacked six pallets of donated gifts and assisted with the distribution of completed packs to Jewish Care clients, Elders’ families and Jewish Care staff who have dedicated their time to support Elders through COVID-19 restrictions.
In these uncertain times our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the COVID-19 crisis and courage and tireless work of services akin to Jewish Care who are delivering essential services during this time.
